Payments with personal checks are currently not accepted, unless indicated otherwise
in the description of an item.
Free shipping and handling inside the continental US.
Shipping costs outside the continental US are the responsibility of the
buyer, and must be pre-arranged by contacting
gourds@gitaland.com
Prior to payment, buyers from outside the continental US also need to contact
gourds@gitaland.com to determine shipping costs for their specific orders.
Insurance, optional but recommended, is also the buyer’s responsibility and
needs to be predetermined by contacting the gourd department at gitaland.com.
Items will usually be shipped within 5-7 workdays after payment has been
received/verified.
Custom Orders / Commissions
Each gourd on this website is an original “object d’art”.
Should you find your favorite piece already marked as “sold”, you may
commission a similar piece by emailing Gita Landwehr at
gourds@gitaland.com
Please note that no two gourds grow 100% alike and that recreating the
artwork will lead to slight variations in design, thus turning the
commissioned work into another original piece of art, that exceeds a mere
copy.
Gita Landwehr also accepts commissions for gourd art according to your
specifications.
Commissions of any kind require a 50% down payment of the agreed sales
price. Upon completion of a custom order the artist will email an image of
the completed work to the buyer. (Should the buyer, at this point, reject
the commissioned work, the artist will retain 50% of the down payment and
refund the remaining 50% of the down payment to the buyer.)
The buyer will confirm his acceptance of the commissioned work by paying the
remaining 50% of the sales price, plus shipping costs and insurance where
applicable. The work will then be shipped to the buyer within an agreed
upon time frame and the transaction shall be considered final.
